Cotton is a soft, single-celled fiber that grows from the epidermis of the seeds of the cotton plant (Gossypium). These fibers are spun into threads and used to make soft, breathable textiles. The cotton fiber is twisted together with a rayon fiber and then woven into a high-quality piece of canvas. The sides are paintable, cotton is stapled to the back. 3 layers of high-quality gesso have been applied, resulting in a medium-fine structure that can be painted on immediately.
